Geoffrey Chaucer is the author of the Canterbury tales. He lived from 1334 to 1400 which to me seems like a really long time ago. He was the first to be buried in the Westminster Abbey’s Poets Corner. Chaucer had royal connections mostly from his wife Philippa Roet. English at the time was not commonly used and politically England was unstable.The population wasn't that great either. People were divided into mostly the poor and the rich due to the black death and because of this the poor could try and ask for better wages which would sometimes go their way. The Canterbury tales is the stories told by 29 pilgrims who were making a journey to Canterbury for a blessing. The pilgrim who told the best story would get an elegant dinner at the end of the trip. However, Chaucer did not finish writing his stories having died before being able to to complete it.
