Questions:
1. I was not surprised by the rioters fate since the man had claimed that under the tree toward the grove death lay, and death did come from their greed and awful desires even though it wasn't the death they had thought it was.
2 a) The rioters were in a tavern drinking when a coffin passing by caught their attention.
b) They seem to be like lower middle class people since they do have enough money to buy drinks in a tavern, but they also seem to be easily negatively moved by things since they are quick to riot against death. Additionally, they are barginers since they asked for the tavern-knave to do something for them and bargained with their lives to supposedly live and die for each other and then they swore to go catch death and make sure they had bought him death.
3 a) They pledge to live and die for one another along with catching death to bring him death.
b) they had planned to keep the pledge, but having been wooed into the hands of greed with a bountiful treasure they fell to their own interest in riches and killed one another to have their own heap.
4. a) The rioters found a pile of coins which would make the rioters wealthy.
b) Since man is naturally greedy their greed would take over bringing death to one another in hopes of gaining the wealth to oneself.
5 a) He says he wants to get rid of rats and a polecat that takes too many chickens from his yard and he wants to get even from these crimes.
b)He is lying by the amount and creatures of which he desires to kill but he tells the truth by saying that they take his "chickens" from him at least in time and he tells the truth by saying "with vermin that destroy man by night" since he plans to exterminate the two rioters.
6. The way in which he overstuffed his story with a manipulative tone somewhat giving it a bit of a jumbled feeling, but still absorbes the attention of the stories listener. It may be slightly distracting, but it still pulls off the story.
7. a) The plague greatly impacted society by destroying families and making the size of the humans who lived on the town shrunk leaving people a bit exasperated.
b) Somewhat since it shows that undesirable easy thoughts are not the best way to go even if your life isn't the best it can be at the time.
8. AT times it can be when you let it take over all your feelings since greed and gain are not everything. People still need to think things through and be considerate to what could happen along with having a tad of generosity every now and then since we do need to occasionally take a step back to continue moving forward.
