SOMETHING'S FUNNY IN THE STATE OF DENMARK
What I feel the main role of humor in Hamlet is to drive an important point into someone so that it can be remembered and also pondered upon. For example, the clowns would be there to show the foolishness within death to which it comes back on the last scene of Hamlet where everyone dies almost at once and so suddenly that it's humorous because they were all mad with lust toward something cruel that they all fell for their crimes at once.  This is funny because we all see clearly all the crimes that stack upon their head due to their sneakiness and we wait to see who will fall from these crimes and to which results with all of them dying from their crimes which was something we might have not suspected.
