BNW CHAPTER 5
I was very confused at the end of the chapter. What the heck was that strange party for? Solidarity  Service? Could Brian Marx be suffering from depression? Could this push him to fight against corrupt and controlling his government is.
First of all it seems this chapter is very music oriented. Lenina and Henry had gone into a bar of sorts to dance in sync with the other dancers. But before they went there they experienced a switchback. This switchback involved the death of another being. WHat they ended up saying with certainty was that whoever they person was they had lived happy lives. They were certain of it. This was jaw dropping. How could everyone be conditioned so well to believe everyone is happy. Marx and aren't happy but they stated it was because they were flawed. How many people out there are flawed like them? Do they go on putting their fake smiles everyday pretending to be what the government wanted them to be? That's depressing. The people are still doing their hardest to fit in with others still in this supposed paradise. The government convinces the people that they live in paradise they tell the people that everybody is happy now. they tell them this so that those who aren't happy make themselves happy or long for happiness so that they do not change the tides which the population goes.
